Health Care, Who Needs It?

The nationalized healthcare debate continues in Washington and in many communities across America. Many well-meaning people seem willing to accept a little socialism if it means helping a wide swath of citizenship to obtain a basic human right. Socialist politicians recognize a wedge to grant a new right to a segment of the population, solidifying political support for generations.

Is health care a basic human right? The Declaration of Independence proclaims that “all men … are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights … Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” “It seems strange to ask the government to give me something already granted, by a higher power. The government can not restrict or take it away. Most political arguments relating to 50 million Americans without health insurance. The cynical requires an exact number of a source more reliable than a chicken on TV. According to the 2005 census, the total number of uninsured in the United States with 46.577 million. 9.487 million are not legal citizens and 8.3 million earned $ 50,000 to $ 74,999 per year, and chose not to buy insurance. An additional 8.74 million earn more than $ 75,000 per year and not buy insurance.

Misconceptions about affordable health care

The 2008 election has brought the issue of “affordable health care” and “affordable health insurance” to the forefront and with it, a lot of misconceptions. Therefore, what is true and what is false? The purpose of this article is to dispel some of these myths and misconceptions and provide information to make an issue of mud a little clearer.

1. The first misconception is that, for some reason, Americans equate affordable health care “socialized medicine.”
