The future of American health
The future of health care in the United States is uncertain, but unsettling. Many experts predict a shortage of over 200,000 physicians in 2020. If this prediction come true, people of all ages and income levels will be negatively affected.
In August 2006, the Census Bureau reported that the number of uninsured non-elderly Americans rose by another 1.3 million to a total of 46.1 million. This was just another continuation of the trend that began in 2000. Unlike the case for several years before 2005, studies showed that even the number of children without health insurance had increased. The safety net to cover the most fragile of citizens has begun to tear.

Planning for retirement – Pencil healthcare costs
With the constant increase of the high costs of planning for retirement health care should include health and related medical expenses. A recent study by the Kaiser Foundation of California estimates that Medicare only covers about 45% of the total costs of health care of a beneficiary. This leaves 55% of that ever-increasing cost you pay for.
Another study by Boston-based Fidelity Investments suggested that retirees will need a minimum of $ 225,000 to cover out of pocket expenses only medicine in his later years. This figure does not include non-prescription drugs, dental procedures or long-term care.
